legs. In waxing, wax is spread on

along with it.
Shaving: Shaving is a temporary hair
removal method, by using a razor.
It cuts the hair just at the surface.
Moisturizers should be applied before
you shave your hair off.
Laser Hair Removal: Laser technology
is a very recent development as far
as hair removal is concerned. However,
in addition to that, it is not a permanent
hair removal method. Here, the lights
are emitted at different wavelengths,
pulse widths and energy outputs. It
is believed that this hair removal
method is suitable for those with
light skin and dark hair.
Hair Removal with Depilatories: A
chemical called thioglycolate mixed
with sodium hydroxide or calcium hydroxide
is used in this method. It actually
melts the hair which rids the skin
off hair. However, disulfide bonds,
chemical bonds holding skin and hair
cells together are cut off by thioglycolate.
It should be used with discretion
as it can cause skin irritation.
Hair Removal with Vaniqa: Vaniqa
is a tropical cream, approved by the
FDA. It is not available without prescription.
The main constituent of Vaniqa is
Eflornithine hydrochloride. It obstructs
and prohibits the enzyme which cell
functions necessary for the hair growth.
Threading: It is one of the safest
bets to remove hair. It is sans chemicals,
side-effects and is hygienic. This
method uses a thread to remove the
unwanted hair. The thread is twisted
and the hair is gripped in a mini
lasso and then pulled out of the hair
follicle. It is used by most women
for keeping their eyebrows in that
perfect shape. It does not consume
a lot of time as well.
